This event will be held at the Cedar Hills Prep Elementary School in Somerset.

Time:

  • For roboclub members & families: From 1:00 to 4PM

Q & A

For members
  1. Do I have to be currently attending roboclub in order to do a demo?  You must be our roboclub members in some terms in the past 3 years, not necessarily the current term.   If you have accomplished a robotics project on your own and would like to demonstrate them, please contact Elizabeth Mabrey ASAP.  The decision will base on the level of autonomy and completion.
  2. Do parents need to stay through the entire event? NO. However, it is important for us to know when you can arrive at the event.
  3. What do the roboclub students do?  Most likely we shall have a kiosk like stations configuration. Some stations will simply demonstrate various individual project. A few stations will present robotics team challenge, such as robo Laser Tag, robotics soccer, etc.  Besides, we may facilitate an ageless game for students approaching the end of the event, such as SumoBot mini-contest.
  4. Do members have to stay through the entire event?  This event lasts for 3 hours.  Since  there will always be more than one student working on the same project, we are planning to assign them in a round robin format.  Not all students must be present at their station at the same time.   We'll try to ensure each having an opportunity to see all projects.  Therefore, he/she may not need to stay through the entire 3 hours.  However, if the kids wish to participate in the special SumoBot mini-contest, they must stay through the entire 3 hours.
  5. Could you adjust your event schedule? Sorry, this is the best schedule we can acquire for the venue.  Besides, it is on Saturday, 1 to 4 falls in the usual meeting time.

For Non-members:

  1. Any Free Play? No.   This is meant to be an eye-opening event for everyone, promote robotics education and about the cool stuffs our roboclub kids have done lately.
  2. Do parents need to stay with their children at all times?  Yes.
  3. Allow walk-in? Yes, ONLY between 2 to 3:30 for non-member. 1 to 4pm for all Storming Robots' members and families.
